Problem Summary
Filter pressure gauge reads noticeably higher than its clean/just-backwashed baseline.
Rising filter pressure above its clean baseline means flow is being restricted somewhere before or at the filter — almost always the filter media itself needing a clean.
Possible Causes
Filter media has trapped enough debris to restrict flow
This is the normal, expected reason pressure rises over time between cleanings — it means the filter is doing its job.
A partially closed or blocked valve downstream of the filter
Anything restricting flow after the filter also shows up as elevated pressure at the gauge.
Diagnostic Steps

Compare current pressure to the clean baseline noted after the last backwash/clean.
A rise of roughly 8–10 psi (or the media manufacturer's stated threshold) above baseline is the typical signal to clean the filter.
